Support Worker – Hamilton
1 x 10 Hours Per Week and Relief Vacancies
£9.00 Per Hour
Vacancy Reference: 6468
We have a 10 hour vacancy in our Hamilton service, supporting 2 individuals.
The two individuals live near to two local parks and with easy access to bus and train transport. Both individuals have a range of interests and like to lead a full and active life. They both enjoy different activities that include going to football matches, music concerts, out for walks in the park and social clubs.
Both individuals, one male and one female, have sensory impairments and need support with personal care but are supported to be as independent as they can be and enjoy an active social life. Administration of medication will be a part of the role.
Each individual has their own one to one support but share some support hours at times when it suits their needs. The successful applicant will therefore be required to undertake some lone working but work alongside another member of staff when the support needs of the individuals and their chosen activities coincide. There will be a combination of early and late shifts.
Family members are key people in the lives of each individual and working in partnership with families and building relationships though trust is an essential part of the role.
The successful candidate will be sensitive to people’s needs, proactive in supporting people to lead active lives, have a good understanding of the need to support people to stay healthy and safe, and manage risk accordingly. Good team-working skills and a positive attitude are also essential qualities.
Successful applicants must be in a position to gain qualification as determined by the SSSC for registration purposes and be able to gain professional registration with the SSSC within the timescale required, where relevant.
